The ultra-orthodox represent 1/10th of the Israeli population Gene, and they hold enormous political
sway in deciding national policy. There are lots of secular Jews in Israel, many of whom are looking for
creative solutions to the stalemate on peace in the Middle East. Until Israel is able to set limits on the religious zealots, who are narrow-minded racists and
expansionists, nothing will change. Imagine if 1/10th of Americans were intolerant Christian
fundamentalists ... oh, never mind.
