Air is good - a little water on a soft cloth is better if you can get to the lens. There are cleaner disks out there, too. You have a choice of Dry(with a velvet patch) or Wet (with brushes & a bottle of fluid). The DVD cleaners usually have extra tracks to check for polarity and such.

I like the sound from my amp, but the main drawback on new equipment for me is there is no preamp or Phono input. I bought a small metal Recotron box preamp which never worked correctly, and wound up with a $50.00 Radio Shack 10 watt amp acting as my preamp.

There is a local guy who deals vintage equipment, and I have been tempted, but I'm really not motivated to own & maintain two systems.
