it just wasn't executed well enough to wield an impact, imo... i'm not trying to get a rise out of anybody... the script was weak, the plot often incoherent, and the last two scenes laughable, yes... that chase scene??? when would it end? i found it funny... and the graveside scene, which should have been emotionally cathartic, didn't come across as in any way meaningful or realistic... despite morse, nicholson and huston, i found it a weak effort... maybe it was all of those strip-bar scenes... i'll take 'into the wild' any old day to see sean penn's directorial skills brought to life...
