I found it funny that he chose to do a Elbow cover since they've been basically covering his material since their inception? Maybe that's why he did, a little tongue and cheek? After having the album for a few weeks now, It’s not as powerful for me as the first few days. The disc needs to be listened to as a complete whole. Some of the orchestra arrangements are stunning. The whole concept was a risk and he really puts himself under the microscope with this venture. The Arcade Fire, Lou Reed and Magnetic Fields covers are my favs. I think it's better than anything he’s done since “US”. The recent Realworld collaborations and “UP” where a complete letdown for me. This disc is far from a classic, but an interesting career curveball. I have friends going to Montreal. Of course, no funds to do the LA date.
