Ed, please man,
Hook a brotha up,
where can I get my hands on some o that hi spopularity and hi sbully pulpit?
I’m spinnin’ so fast, I can barely articulate anything anymore.
I mean, they startin’ up an all granny-shot basketball league down south where the trainer and waterboy haz ta ride in the back o the bus. The BACK o the bus, no shit! I think it’s gona be called the Jim Crow Basketball Fellowship & Bible Study. I asked my son, who plays shootin’ guard for a primarily all-white school, if he would enjoy playing for an all white League. He chuckled… said he’d much rather he and the center be the only two white guys on a primarily black basketball team.
Re-bigot-up sociology. Up-spigot the economy. Mainline the down-sizing of the workingperson. Bury the GOP ax in Healthcare reform. Tie the wary hands of our big brother president Hope & a prayer. Feed the bankers the lion’s share and your share and my share and God’s share and the sun’s share and the sea’s share and mom’s share and pop’s share and Pat ‘em on the back for usurping all the shares and write a letter of hardship to the almighty askin for the agreed lower interest rate on this loan before the small print snuck up and bit down hard on the reality of the waning public pie in the sky. Who am I to cry over spilt democracy, liberty, hopes and dreams of the next generation? This shit was all prorated back when Reagan fouled the unions.
At least we’ve got oxygen. A functioning water filter. 30-yr shingles on good sheathing, a few sealed windows through which to view the machinations and the birds at the feeders. An overbearing corporate franchise wherein to buy our bread & anodyne hydroponic veggies, and a co-op where we can go and spend the remaining of our grocery budget on actual organic food with actual holistic nutrition---but, at four times the price of high fructose corn syrup & hydrogenated anal seepage. We got heat, we got soap, we got a spinning bike and some DVDs, we got cotton/polyester, we got booze when we need it, mattresses to lay our asses on, laughter on the good days, and a smile to help gather ourselves on the bad, ..we ain’t had.
