It's hard to follow what responds to what the way this board is organized. My terse little comment really had nothing to do with your metaphors, which were pretty funny.
Triple E's "thank goodness I was never a jock," however, is a crude and over-reaching dig that would rightly get called out if it were used to describe some less-fortunate group. That's what I was getting at, nothing more.
The idea that some of those "jocks" don't have any true friends is both untrue and prejudiced. Having a bit of a humorless day in the real world probably didn't help. Perhaps his real-life experience has been different than mine, but as a card-carrying member of three-sport lettermen, a violin player, and a real science geek, I have some personal experience with the similarities and differences between those social groups.

Still waiting for those "half-formed" D&D songs . . . (OK, take that with a smiley emoticon).
