ah yes . . . my uncle (from Oakland) used to love referring to The City
(everybody in Northern California knows exactly what you mean when you say The
City, the only other acceptable term other than San Francisco) as 'Frisco
'cause it annoyed San Franciscans . . . I live in the Sierra Nevada foothills
and call it Frisco every now and then just to tweak the local Bay Area
transplants . . . . and it never fails to get the aforementioned response,
never :)
I do truly love The City . . . but we all need to be knocked down a peg or two
every now and then . . .
