I watched it and, like many others pointed out, too much Wynton Marsalis and not enough Ornette
Coleman, Albert Ayler, Miles' fusion phase, etc; No coverage of that wild honk and squawk black
power era of jazz that was so amazing to see.It's like Ken Burns worshipped the Marsalis Bros. and thought jazz ended at some point in the fifties
until they came along to recreate it along traditional lines.The Marsalis bros. may be great musicians but they are kind of .... boring. I'm just sayin'....
