I think I can safely say we, the peops, likely wouldn’t have met for any other reason but our mutual admiration of David Baerwald songs, music, words. (Those who have hung here to be a poison pill are something else altogether.) So what MJG said makes sense. The board could bear a striking disclaimer, and a scent that wards off troglodytes of unusual size; the neon-blue *Baerwald* need never (or rarely ever) make an appearance on this board, as its thriving namesake will be off making headway in the 21st Century -- or not, to each his own; there could be certain rules of engagement applied (with the exception of Mick, who's dakinis do not allow for him to communicate on any other dbis wavelength and without whom this board would be far too pleasant an Eloi civilization) such as good humor and some sense of humanness (I’ve tried to be funny, not too sure it came through, but there are some really funny people herein); …oh, and maybe Ladies Night every Humpday.
If the board is completely disbanded, all that will happen is a really excellent collection of David Baerwald memorabilia (thanx to Dan) will be relegated to the winds, and a forum of mostly well-meaning folks will be delegated to a lesser forum like the semi-manipulated, certainly-minimized, ad-stamped n somewhat-mediocre Facebook for our continued internet correspondences.
(NO doubt that creates argument; I don’t wish to be mean spirited about Facebook, there’s just a casualness about proliferating on the dbis that has become … comfortable and not …uh …coerced, cajoled, …corralled. …No crusty sorta disrespect intended, I use Facebook.)
…Good folks who would likely never have had the rare pleasure of meeting had it not been for our mutual admiration for your influential art, David Baerwald. People that for the most part are very delighted to have met. I know I didn’t go looking for a forum, it was a quest to locate a little more about the cat who created (m#thaf#ckin!) TRIAGE … and at one time or another had caught the best attentions of another cat who’s films & acting I’ve admired as a cornerstone of what filmmaking should be in an ideal creative industry.
The TRIAGE short film & performance package AND the dbis forum were merely bonuses. One of which has become a ...surrogate family member and comfort zone when not overtly hampered by pejorative jingo-jangle bent on perpetuating ire until the sun weeps and turns its back, and the other is just simply a fine piece of artifact memorabilia that will be on rotation for the duration of life's luminous/ludicrous limitations.
I pulled a piece and have held off on another, it’s all the same argument we’ve been wrestling with since the dawn of internet communication anyway, but I did it out of respect for whatever transition this board will eventually undergo.
To those loveable ones present (you know who you are) who gradually made this place a hearth of cozy & enlightenment: Thank You for your friendship, forgiveness, acts of unremitting kindness and all-round sense of humor and humanness … &… Cheers!
