I believe u sent the good vibes, DBIS people --- just in time. Thanks, from the barrel bottom o my Messyheart.

Maya was hallucinating a lot from the bigGuns antibiotics & high fever. Semi-sleepin, a pretty li'l half smile on her face, eyes closed but talking into my ear, …she said we were together packing for the big move: she was seeing me as a wholly huggable box-stacking grizzly bear, (in her vision) we were packing-for-points a giant gold moving van together with purple and orange boxes of assorted chocolates. Her tossing them into the truck to me like an ‘80s video arcade game, …..me catching and arranging them on the floating multicolored dots to collect points for correct combinations as she threw them faster and faster, while our big imaginary shaggy dog companion chased everyone around makin‘em hop and laugh). ...Black bears all around her bed (when partly out of her “big move” scenario), cuddly yet vigilant black bears surrounding her & me, she said, keeping the “bad guy” away. Oh geez, the mind on Voriconazole & 104 degrees for so many nights. But this past hour a youth-aged doctor came in with a baby of a nurse (born 2-years after we graduated high school) assisting, and they skillfully removed Maya’s 3-port Hickman catheter --- the proposed cause of the blood-germ she’s been fighting for the past 4 days and nights. As of just now she’s broken the fever!! Credit, where credit is due, to your good vibes . . . & this adroit learning tree ... & love.

We’re not out of the storm yet; …seas will rage again they claim. This little boat was running with the wind, main reefed, chasing a windward shore until the calm, but we’ve got miles yet, this blow, this gale. There are still the dread Leukemic blasts that returned against the odds, sent the good Doc’s medical journal into a tizz. Took our Maya from the shaded bike trails and late afternoon tennis courts and summer screened porch that had her smiling and regaining confidence again and planted her back in this cocoon. The chemo is in; the counts are in the basement, the mini-infusion of more donor cells coming soon. Again, for sleeping Maya & unsleeping Messy, thank you for the well-meaning motion of one good forum ...of slightly more than mere strangers.
