I guess I've never been a believer in flag laws, anyway.

Here I agree for the most part. I don’t think so much about a person’s love or loyalty or credo should orbit around a decorated cloth … deemed sacred, revered and feared.  It’s just such a petty…whose-dick-symbol-is-bigger-than-whose pompous paleface concept.  BUT on the other hand, if you had taken an oath of office and wore a uniform of the American armed forces, and stopped in your tracks to solute wherever you were for the raising of the flag every morning and then again for the lowering of the flag each night as a courtesy and a condition, while your mind meandered through American history and the triangle folded flags handed to wives & mothers at funerals across the country, etc., etc., then you might have arrived at a point where that flag has very convincing meaning to you…and the Constitution is then actually in your favor and justifiably so.  And … this veteran should be aware of the proper conduct regarding the American Flag (no doubt it was drilled into him) which I believe he most likely is -- which means he’s broken or just near broke…and pissed…and feeling betrayed by his countrymen…and feels like there’s nowhere to turn…nobody to listen…no hope at all…and so DISTRESS!

I get it.  As I said, I’m not hung up on it … it’s just that I was rooting for the guy…and feeling the weight of the jackboots kicking in his doors and raping him of his human right to privacy and property in this brave new 21st Century sinkhole … and, in doing the research, found the city to be holding the canon of law -- as well as the cannons of browbeat and entitlement.

It’s a funny-not funny world, Rossy.  You aughta know…with all that you’ve seen.

Let’s let the incomparable Eddie Izzard put it into perspective, shall we?
