I just got back from a month in Saudi Arabia, and it was clear that many people there are more
humorous and sophisticated than normally portrayed in the media. That said, in just that amount of
time, I witnessed:- joking about polygamy
- justification of unequal rights for women
- horrible treatment and comments toward Shiites in the company
- joking (but serious in a way) about taking child brides too young to menstruate
- discussion about swine flu being God's punishment for eating porkAnd the biggest . . . a blame-first culture that can't seem to do much right (I was there to correct
much of that) because no one works hard enough to really get anything done.So is it still bias when based on facts on the ground?
