We've been mentioning it and now it's all happening. We up and started a label, as if a dot-com and a magazine weren't risky enough. Here's our lovely little logo - continuing our "folk-deco" vibe. But the real reason we're writing you today is because of our new releases from:

It's about the music.

Greetings friends. It's a big day. The first new Mark Heard album since Satellite Sky is out and ready for you to come get it. Featuring 11 songs recorded and "lost" since 1989 - plus 6 bonus songs we rescued from now out-of-print compilations. 50% of the proceeds benefit Mark's family.

And not to be short-shrifted, we also offer a new album from the brilliant and critically-acclaimed Doug Hoekstra. A maker of intimate songs and melody with the skill of the best craftsmen, Hoekstra writes "five minute worlds." Step inside.

And thanks for joining us on our new ride, Paste Records.

New Releases
Mark Heard
Hammers & Nails

WARNING: Image embedded by poster. Recorded as demos from 1987-1989 and just prior to Mark’s final series of masterworks, these songs function as the prequel to his brilliant final chapter and a bridge from his earlier work.

Doug Hoekstra
Waiting

WARNING: Image embedded by poster. Despite Hoekstra’s wonderfully nuanced melodies, this is not an album meant to be background noise. Find a time to really listen and let yourself get swept into Hoekstra’s five-minute worlds.

Screen Door &/or Ben Wakeman
Greener

WARNING: Image embedded by poster. Imagine a young James Taylor fronting a folk-pop band and you'll get the idea. Proudly released by PasteMusic.com.

The Artists
Mark Heard
WARNING: Image embedded by poster. It's hard to put into words how much of an honor it is to have been entrusted by Mark's wife and former label partner to continue the legacy of his music. His new album, Hammers & Nails - it's the real thing. Indispensable songwriting on 11 new tracks plus 6 rescued songs from out of print compilations.

Doug Hoekstra
WARNING: Image embedded by poster. Doug's the opposite of Mark. We haven't known his music for very long - but when we got to know him and his music - suffice it to say his "Paste-iness" was more than obvious. Like a mix of Elliott Smith and Nick Drake - you'll be smitten by his new CD, Waiting.

Before We Were a Label
Bill Mallonee and/or Vigilantes of Love
Live at the 40Watt

WARNING: Image embedded by poster. The band's only live album was produced by PasteMusic.com so we can give you the best price. Recorded one night in the boys' hometown of Athens, Ga., it captures their energy like no other CD. (reg. $13.95)
$13.95 $1095 ADD TO CART

Bill Mallonee and/or Vigilantes of Love
Locket Full of Moonlight

WARNING: Image embedded by poster. The amazing, AMAZING, Bill Mallonee returns with his second 2002 release. The well runs deep. And dark. To say a Bill Mallonee record is essential is redundant.

Now what are tha chances of getting David's tunes released on their label? Can we make it happen? Does David even want to sign to another label? What about David releasing his music on his own label? Here's another cool website. Click on the "About Us" link:
Any thought out there?
Cheers,
Kevin(from Arizona)
