I loved Into the Wild (was a interested in the story from the book years before the movie). But it never would have been in consideration due to many peoples' feelings about Chris McCandless. Let's face it: Into the Wild wasn't exactly uplifting. And I don't know if it really taught us much about human beings, but it was a really fascinating snapshot of the life on one human being.
