I don't think you can beat the Northern Sierra Nevada foothills (Grass
Valley/Nevada City) we are at about 2500-3500 elev. We get a few days of
snow fall, typically a few days of freezing temps, summer rarely gets into
the high 90s, we still get 4 seasons . . . National Forests everywhere, Lake
Tahoe, world class skiing all within an hour or two . . .San Francisco about
3 hours away and a small town vibe . . . Life is pretty damn good . . .
