Reg, you forget that the boys in R.E.M. influenced and paved way for so many bands in the 90's including Uncle Tupelo which later became Wilco. R.E.M. will be in the R n'R annuals long after we're gone. Funny thing is, whenever I see used early R.E.M. in the shelves at my favorite used record shop, they don't last to long. They're will always be new fans, like the Beatles, Floyd and the Stones, a younger generation will discover their early beauty. I hate almost everything Prog and I hate the Stones and Floyd, but I respect their catalog and their place in History. Marilion? well that's another story...
