ack! this thread just got stuck in my teeth. gross!

hardly the best band in the world, but hardly the worst either. i remember when i first heard "Can't Get There From Here", i felt it was exactly the kind of music i wanted to write and play. true, i was 18 at the time, but it doesn't hold up too poorly.

i was taken by this clip i found, their first TV appearance, on Letterman. they're so young and cute...Stipe is so...i don't know what the word is, someone help me out here. but i love the way Peter and Mike move about with that frenetic very New Wave energy. good tune, too. classic.
