I think Veronica articulated something many of us have felt. We'd like to help, but there's little we can do other than offer support, friendship and hope.
What you are living through is something we all fear. I am the same age as you two. It could just as easily be happening to me, and I'm not sure how I'd cope in the same situation.
You have been in my thoughts (and will stay there). I hope that the treatment Shelby is receiving will help her to recover ASAP.
