I oppose the 700B bailout and I am even more opposed to the proposed (but certainly not sealed) 25B requested bailout of GM,Ford, and Chrysler. Why should we, the taxpayers bail these "people' out?

And as far as the US carmakers go...they have themselves entirely to blame. They make crappy cars and their labor costs are too high. They should be allowed to die a natural death. Good riddance.

I don't know who it was, but a senator from Tennessee on Cspan yesterday was grilling the company execs on their request with totally legitimate questions, about current and projected needs and they waffled on most answers. Good on him, whoever he was.

These bailouts will not save the economy long or short term, will cost us extra money and it gives license to future bailouts...seemingly without end.
