To much is given(let's say economic PHD's in this instance) much is to be answered for.

Part of the point here that I thought needn't be mentioned is that more so than war, economics has been studied to death. So much so that it's impossible for the people in the field who wrote the rules that allowed the irrational exuberance to developed NOT TO KNOW it was going to happen. Impossible.

It's time to put the blame squarely where it belongs, with the Federal Reserve and secondarily with the Congress who allowed those rules to pass into law.

Nonetheless, we all shall pay, whether in inflation or loss of pension.
