Palin's a nasty little bit of faux-populist demagoguery, alright, and clearly has an appeal to the fact- challenged, the small-minded, the anti-science religiocrat and the neo-fascist. I guess it's coming on time to find out exactly how similar our era is to post-Weimar Germany. She does have a bit of vetting ahead of her, but qualifications have never meant a damn thing to the crony capitalists who have hijacked the Republican Party. Time will tell. She may be just dumb, narcissistic, mean-spirited and simplistic enough to to rouse the armies of the darkness. But the contrary holds true, too, and the tens of millions of us who see her for what she is will certainly not lie down. Bring it on, Mr. Brown.
