Oooh doggies. As a long time resident of Boston, I speak for the bulk of us when I say that we would
like this band to be renamed. It's more than a feeling too.One of the funniest bad concerts I ever saw was years ago in college in New York State when a friend
of mine had tix to go see--I kid you not--Chris DeBurgh and America on a double bill. Now, I was
frequently burnt during this time of life, legally a pharmacy, so my judgement was a tad skewed. So terrible. You cannot imagine how bad this show was. But the funny part was that America who I
always thought of as being the musical equivalent of sandlewood were all blotto or drugged or
something AND they had hired a guy who was essentially a heavy metal style guitarist. You'd have "A
Horse With No Name" or some drek and it would feature a Dokken-esque guitar fill. Deeply odd. I think this may have started me on this bad habit I have of taking the sunniest of songs and re-
imagining them as death metal. Songs like "My Lip Gloss Is Poppin'" and whatnot. Best shows lately--Steely Dan (the Dan can bring it) and Rickie Lee Jones in a club with maybe 125
people. Lovely.
