I have some tapes of him and Marc Bonilla doing radio shows in support of the Toy Matinee album. Those guys were hilarious, and they could carry the whole show. It' that witty/smart/daring/only-slightly-cynical side of Kevin Gilbert that really drew me in. That and his really natural-sounding singing voice and the fun allusions to prog in his pop. Like you Herring, (although I did know of Boomtown) it was KG's stuff that drew me toward David Baerwald's music. I'm glad I found both.I didn't know the guy, but I miss him.
