Here's one to get things started:

Be patient with this download, it's a big WAV file but worth it.
Janett Cardiff-Missing Voice (5:59) (Recorded and mixed on location in Barcelona, mastered in
Holland).
Description: Spoken word with environmental sound recording. Vancouver,Canada based artist
who
is known for her "walks". Usually these are only available at Art Installations or commissioned
works. This track would be impossible to find, hence I make it available here. The recording is
done while walking, with various natural environmental sounds and obviously some studio tweaking
afterwards. I got it from a CD entitled Sonic City which included commissioned works for a
contemporary Architectural event celebrating the City, hosted in Bordeaux 11/24/2000-3/25/2001.
Selections picked for this CD by Hans Ulrich Obrist. I found it as an insert in a crazy Architectural
book I was reading at the time, called Mutations by Rem Koolhaas. Rem is a well known
international Architect based at least part time in NYC but has offices elsewhere. His writing is
pretty hopeless, at least confusing (to me) but his visions and pix are intriguing. But do buy
Mutations for just turning the pages and looking at the great pictures. Don't even try to read the
"articles".
ENJOY. IT's WORTH THE DOWNLOAD TIME ! Suggestion: Play this with no other distractions,
preferably "later" at night with the libation of your choice, and at substantial volume with the best
speakers you have. Be ready for a few "surprises". For more on Rem and OMA (his firm): http://www.oma.eu/
