David, First of all, big thanks for going over to my music site and giving the music presence in the first place. "Listening to your music the first time in your Venice studio has always been a memorable experience, and ultimately, the moment I knew, I wanted to write and record songs. I remembered your reaction to the mock title of the art work, “Too Late Rites” that night, you whispered “too late” a couple of times then went to the console and played “Bob Dylan Blues”. I recall a match striking and a door creaking into the old west saloon piano intro, and of course “I don’t mean to bark, and I don’t mean to be rude, but the gears in my brain they are grinding” You asked if I had ever worked with recording equipment before, I hadn’t, I regretted it.

"Late" & "Quaalude" along with "Signals" are my favs, and have the majority of my attention in the moment. “Late" was written in a mind-fuck from family-law court papers, it's kind of woa is me, sort of thing. I was feeling weak, carrying around a back pack of drama, and was in no condition to have an interlude with a woman w/more drama and baggage of her own, who was giving me the signal. "Quaalude to Prelude" wants to be Leonard Cohen's "Tacoma Trailer" or Angelo Badalamenti/David Lynch film music w/"TRIAGE", "The Wall", and "Momentary Lapse of Reason" sound effects, a bit heavy, I admit. "Quaalude" is about the snuffing out of a 8 year relationship with a Russian woman whom I witnessed a unexpected personality flaw that, to me, had been dormant throughout a flexible relationship, w/courage to rear it’s ugly head when she'd "found someone", very cold, calculated, where did that come from? bridge burning for what may be and is likely temporary. "Casting your line out far from the boat, you get a slight bite, it's not too clear, everyone's outside, bait still adheres.." .

I will work at your suggestions of improving these, I know they are full of flaws, out of key, weak vocally and amateur. I can re-structure and improve upon them as my knowledge of the fundamentals improve. There is already a second, slicker version of ”Late” that doesn’t have the same appeal as my original. There is more actual playing on the new demo than the originals' garageband loops. The vocals are all with the interior IMac mic, sad... so, that’s my next purchase along with an upgrade to the program. Thanks for your honest feed back. Would you consider consulting at a “later” stage?

Thank you David,

JW
