So I suppose you're taking issue with Jesus saying "you'll know them by their fruits"?

Oh that's right, Paul doesn't know what he's talking about, but I'm down with Jesus, except when I don't like what he's saying. In which case, the scribes misinterpreted Jesus because any sensible person knows God is so impotent he hasn't the power to preserve his own words, as he promised he would, including in the person of Jesus specific to every jot and tittle(until all comes to pass).

Something else the scripture teaches Mick is that a man need not be judged if he confesses his sin and furthermore that Jesus will forgive them. It falls under the area of "the truth shall set you free".

As to Roman Catholicism: it continues as all it's ever been, the ancient mystery religion(s) dressed up in Christian terminology, if not Christian garb. Even the church admits Rev 17 & 18 is about them, they just deny it's a still future event. Which as those passages note(regardless of time frame), some of Jesus' faithful are in her midsts, as Jesus implores his own to come out of Mystery Babylon. Meaning there is a great deal of difference between the hierarchy and the individual believer. And of course, Christianity is all about what any given individual believes regarding Jesus Christ. Meaning, Gods' grace toward man is contingent upon what a man believes about his Son. Or put another way, the only thing that sends any gentile* to Hell, in this dispensation(of grace), is denying Jesus Christ is the Son of God(in ones heart, God reads the heart).

* I'm assuming the Father continues to honor his chosen who have a right heart toward him, per the Law he supplied Moses.

Finally, I don't hate Catholics Mick, I have brothers and sisters entangled in that mess(including brothers and sisters in the body of Christ) but I can, and will, refute that organization has anything to do with scriptural Christianity. History and their actual practices(compared to the Douay or the NEB, their bibles) are more than sufficient to prove they are merely misappropriating any positive connection to the Lord Jesus Christ for earthly gain and prestige.

A little unbiased study would clarify this situation for you.

Until the Lord returns, all Truth will but become more unpopular, but hang in there, Christians like myself will likely be openly persecuted, pop(ularly) and publicly, within our lifetime, and the Church will be right at the forefront(as it has been historically).

peaceably

ps Are you like a friend who defends the Church covering up for the perv priests molesting children? It seems to me it's a rather endemic problem the world over. Jesus world certainly approve that too huh?
