Stars support Spanish singer Sanz
| ||
| Stars including Shakira and Penelope Cruz have signed a statement supporting Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz after two of his concerts were cancelled.
The gigs in Venezuela were scrapped after Sanz criticised the country's president, Hugo Chavez. Other celebrities who signed the statement include Jennifer Lopez and footballer David Beckham. The signatories say they "believe in a Latin America where we are all free to express our views". One concert was cancelled in November, the other was planned for 14 February in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas. ----------------------------------------------------------- Say what you want about the Dixie Chicks' event in the USA, but they have not ever been censored in this way.
