Gene,
"Walk Away Renee" was recorded in early 1966, I believe
"Elenor Rigby" was done prior to this. On "Renee" we
employed a string quartet a flute and our keyboard player
used a harpsichord. The reason we did the pseudo classical
thing was, we were only sixteen years old and our piano
player was classically trained so his chops were proficient in
that genre, at last count "renee" has been covered more than
100 times by various artists.
Thanks for asking,Tom Finn
