Well, didn't the world stand by for 10+ years letting it happen, and I do believe Bush campaigned on a neo-isolationist, no nation-building platform, so until recently he was perfectly willing to accept the slaughter. Hence, my reservations as to "saving the Iraqis" being Bush's primary motivation for the invasion.
