Richard Manuel, the heart and soul of The Band would have been 60 today. Granted Robbie Robertson was the primary songwriter. Without Manuel's soulful delivery on the opening cut on The Bands seminal 1st album "Tears of Rage" which was penned by Manuel and Bob Dylan, or the countless others he sang so heartfelt along with the late Rick Danko and Levon Helm, can seldom be matched in any of todays genres. So even if you only like "The Weight", "The Night They Drove Old Dive Down", and "Chest Fever" give them a spin tonight if you can tear away fron CNN. Or Better yet if you are not familar with their body of wor the 2cd To Kingdom Come is an execellent starting point

Regards, Kyle
