No, but I want to. Is it out yet? That young man, maybe somewhat misguided and confused was on
some levels a philosopher and savant. Thoreau mighta been his soul brother. Loved the book. Hope
they don't over-Hollywood the story, but from the trailers and pix it appears it might be a classic
Hollywood shlocky, melodramatic mess, but I hope I'm wrong and will draw different conclusions after
I see it. I trust Sean's integrity. If there is anybody on earth to produce a film like this, it is he.
In my mind as a young, insecure med student, I dreamed of chucking it all, and doing something
like
this one day. But, I never did, I played it safe. Maybe I'll get lucky and still do it, before the big nap.
But, my dream of it now, would be just to nestle up in Wayne's cabin for a complete year, and watch
the seasons change in the Northland. Especially spring breakup, the way it used to occur before
global warming, with big islands of snow, trickling melt into the rivers and lakes. With food, firewood
and plenty of whiskey.
