hmm, link didn't work. but i get the gist from my other reading.my theory. "they" invent all this stuff (new iphone, new ipod, cars with tvs in the backseats) to make "them" rich, and so we have to work
longer and harder to buy all these "necessities." also, therefore, we can not be truly involved or proactive in changing the system or working for candidates and/or issues who may actually benefit us because we need to make more money to buy more stuff. so for "them," it's win-win. for us, lose-lose. because they also make us believe we MUST have music all the time, a phone with pictures, video games and a tv system superior to the movie theatre. because, god forbid, we might go out and actually exchange ideas with other real people in real time and not in our jammies.
