I recently received a letter from my congressperson and wanted to post it. Unfortunately I'm still a technological caveman, (its not like I'm a rocket scientist or something), and couldn't figure it out. However I can post my reply which is getting a little redundant. Congressperson Schultz:
I was really surprised to receive a letter from you. I was even more surprised when that no pleas for donations to the Democratic Party were mentioned. That is extremely commendable. Your support of HR 2956 is certainly a step in the right direction, however I must disagree with your (and most of your colleagues) opinion that pursuing the impeachment of this administration (not just the president)
would be divisive (that has nothing to do with congress' obligation to uphold the law), costly (how much is integrity worth?), a distraction (it's already one), and hamper congress' ability to deal with other important issues (all members of congress seem to have no trouble juggling multiple un related tasks, just look at the riders attached to every piece of legislation).
Pursuing impeachment is not an action of punishment or revenge. It is a declaration of integrity and honor by a country founded on the rule of law. A declaration, not to the administration or even the citizens of the United States, a declaration to the World.
Americans are furious that the law does not apply to their leaders. Criminals are criminals and should be treated the same.
