I don't know all the circumstances of that situation(I'll trust your assessment) Block but I'll stand by the thought that he knowingly lied whether set up or not. He's spose to be one of the smartest folks around, and I'm guessing mind ya, but couldn't he have taken the 5th rather than attempting to BS his way through? I am asking(if anyone knows legally speaking)!

And your point of his what is is, in my mind, simply furthers the notion he thought he was untouchable and could thumb his nose at all the rest of us. Each and every step of which speaks to his lack of character, and the limits of mere brilliance(genius).
