Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth has started up a web site which is offering MP3s of protest songs for free distribution. The songs up now are mostly about the Iraq thing, although any protest song is acceptable to them. It's at:http://www.protest-records.com/The site instructions are: "use 'em for yrself give 'em to friends just don't sell 'em" which is certainly AFMish enough. There are only eight songs up now but an article in the NY Times claims they expect more. The article says that Song #1 on the site 'Go Down, Congress' is about Dick Cheney and Haliburton.
