Reg,Do you like Indian? There is a great place among the masses in little India (w. 20's). Also, another Indian in Chelsea. A really fab Italian right near the theatre district. And another one right next to Port Authority of all places. A great old school French nearby, too, with attitude. I don't live in NYC anymore so I rely on old favorites and new ones through friends. There is SO much good cooking in every neighborhood that it's hard to come up with one or two ideas. I usually avoid the high profile places and look for neighborhood joints with good cooking and devoted staff.
