The following is my message to see if anyone is willing to backup the people who want to Hang the Bastards. Literally.
Congressperson Shultz:
You are my Congressional Representative and I recently viewed you & Congressman Murphy, from Connecticut, speaking on the house floor on C Span. I was encouraged by your and their determination, (though discouraged by the amount of fellow lawmakers present), to repeatedly stress the unlawfulness of the entire Bush administration.
I am not, in the past or currently a politically active person, but I made a vow to pay more attention to the on goings of government when my great windsurfing buddy Charles Grandall was killed in a tragic bicycle accident last year. Since then I have participated in networking on a politically charged web site that encourages discussion of current political events and view points.
The overall feeling I get from these posts is "somebody needs to do something about the current administration getting away with murder".
It seems to me that these are the very people who should be "doing something" until I include myself. The amount of time & energy (not to mention the likely limited chance of success) to actively attempt change in the national ideology (these people were elected, right?) is to consuming to keep up with your everyday responsibilities. I think these website dialogues are our way of "doing something". Unfortunately this time & energy just goes back & forth like a tennis match. Entertaining but unproductive.
The bottom line is we participants of online political opinions, as a whole, are too busy making a living to support our families, too worn down by a rhetorical media, and just to old, to take on a challenge like running for office to accomplish anything constructive. That doesn't mean we're powerless, it means we should just pay some people to do it for us.
I'm contacting the "30 Something Working Group" in hopes of getting a response and I also intend to contact Congresswoman Shultz at her web site to see the same. I feel that I/we need a horse to back. One that's already in the race. One not trained by a trainer whose doping his horses. Not just figuratively but real knock on doors, spread the news kind of stuff. Help with fund raising (a politician's Achilles heel).
Show me that you're serious about justice. Show me that you have the guts to restore the integrity of the United States Of America. Show me a plan to restore the respect of the ENTIRE WORLD. Show me you can answer an E Mail.
I sent this letter to the 30 something working group 2 Months ago. Surprise, no response. How do you expect to get a movement going when you can't even respond to a simple E Mail. Even if it was with a generic auto response.
I'm still hoping.
