Yeah, it's me.

I'd love to teach the kids I work for to become human.  But, unfortunately, this requires some direction in morality, and that is not in current policy or curriculum.  There are few school districts that teach anything more than rote memorization and job training.  We're teaching competition and brutality through sports programs while eliminating music and arts.  If you try to tell a kid how to act, the parent comes flying back at you screaming, "You just teach the material, you can't tell my kid what's right and what's wrong."  Exotic Dancers and Drug dealers make more money than Teachers and Social workers per year.  (long term that evens out for various reasons)  Society as a whole does not support it's own infrastructure. Teachers are restricted in so many ways it is virtually impossible to teach thinking and feeling.  It's only following orders.  Most kids I interview know lots about what they "can" do but nothing about what they "should."  This is why everyone has a scam and an angle and will cut whatever throat they need to in order to get ahead.

So...as we shuffle ever closer to the cliff, few in positions to do anything are saying important big words like, "stop."
