The first song on he new Yusuf album "Avoid City After Dark" is great. Like he's giving listeners a little glimpse of what he's doing now. He's not lost any of his gifts musically, the horn arrangement is a perfect fit for the song, and his voice if anything is smoother. The album is a bit uneven and his cover of "Don't Let Me Be Understood" is AWFUL, but after 30 years a welcome return.
