Do you suppose Putin is actually an idiot? It looks like he believes Russia has a great deal of leverage, and it appears they do. Supporting Iran makes sense too. And, apparently Russia has a growing nationalist movement, which I would have thought would be pro-Putin but perhaps not given what I heard on the news.

Ntl, it don't look promising fer Europe, especially when you add many of the provinces of the EU are having immigrant problems combined with negative birth rates, and of course, Russia's foot on many of their energy throats.

It seems Putin is just playing Russias hand, and I suspect it will be quite popular at home given other recent comments herein.
