Eventually the liberal left is going to have to get past the conspiracy theories of Georgie and gang planning all of this for his oil buddies

the islamofascists have an agenda. neo-cons have an agenda. oil companies have an agenda. teachers have an agenda. environmentalists have an agenda. Israelis have an agenda. Hezbollah has an agenda. firemen have an agenda. fundamentalists have an agenda. bullpen catchers have an agenda. gays have an agenda. skateboarders have an agenda. banjo players have an agenda. etcetera ad infinitum.

sometimes one group will do obviously provocative things to bring their agenda to fruition or kick it into a higher gear. sometimes they'll let something happen if it suits their agenda or jumpstarts it or makes their agenda seem necessary and justified. sometimes events will just naturally occur that will, to the agendamongers, set the stage for their agendas to roll. simplifying perceptions is a deadly weakness of mankind, and my point, Pat, is that more than one thing can be true at a time. how hard can that be to grasp?

and come to grips with what we are really up against.

it's clear enough - a bunch of maniacs. i'm damn glad they cut 'em off at the pass, and hope they do so again. and again. and again. and again. at the same time, i'm not willing to give up all privacy rights or freedoms we have fought so hard for to accomplish that, and where that line is will continue to be debated, odds are endlessly.

what is clear is that power by its very nature is corruptive to nearly all who wield it and is always abused eventually. sorry to sound pessimistic...blame 2,000 years of recorded history. i'm just wary.
