Kevin, I am always surprised by the number of "Republican" friends that I have in my "real life" and how we try to find the common ground even while we disagree profoundly on many, many issues - this being one of them. They know that they can't change my positions and vice versa yet we all hope that in a nuanced discussion, we can broaden each other's viewpoints. Perhaps you and I can facilitate that dialogue here..if so, it's a fine accomplishment.
