I want to thank Katherine for a burn unit song
"Powder Blue" that launched a new music
journey for me. I Love This Band, adventurous
and honest to it's influences, Talk Talk, Peter
Gabriel a bit Marilllionesque here and there
but then again they are definitely Gabrielesque
as was Talk Talk for that matter. All in a Brian
Wilsonish BGVocal Beam of Light of production.
Sounds! The spaces! Mark Hollis always had
this thing with restraint and simplicity that is
evident here, The Guitarist has this Fripp/Belew
Edge and is aggressive and persistant
-persuasive with new ideas and unlikely solos.
Bryan Ferry, PreFab Sprout, and Radiohead, Jeff
Buckley also come to mind.
I'm probably way behind on this but what a find.
Guy Garvey is pretty talented singer/songwriter.Elbow is respective
to a sound that alot of us grew up with, my
guess is that Mick ,Dale, and Mike Fisher, Eric
would love or love already. "Asleep in the Back
"is Brilliant! Just bought "Leaders of the Free
World" as well. Great stuff, and a joyous, brave
listening experience.
Great tastes Katherine!
what do you know of them? How did you find
them? JW
