"So Far Away" David Gilmore- David Gilmore
1978,
I just heard this song after being away from it
for a long time, I simply love the arrangement,
piano and Gilmour's sweet vocal timing.
Nice spaces of simplicity. The song didn't get
alot of attention, I always thought he was in
an awe inspiring groove. Cold , crisp fresh
mountain air. A Great relaxing artistic effort to
put on early evenings.
There has been mention on this board of
songs we might like to hear David cover.
This would be my suggestion.Triage struck me as Pink Floyd/Roger Waters
influenced, listen to the "Bitter Tree"
acoustic performance on the DVDDavid what did you find influential about Pink
Floyd and it's individual members?Speaking of Floydish, I love Kevin Gilbert's
"All Fall Down" from THUD, sounds like The
Wall or The Final Cut. Brilliant! That hounded
woasme vocal is perfect.
