"Spy" magazine once pulled a prank — back in the early
nineties, I think — where it created a fictitious magazine,
"Republican Teen Beat," then persuaded GOP leaders to participate.
One of the features was a Q&A with Jerry Falwell and Ralph Reed.
The interviewer asked, "If Jesus were to play Charles Barkley in a
game of one-on-one, who would win?" Reed played along and
responded, "I think it would be pretty close," while Falwell
pronounced, "Jesus would win!" To the follow-up question of
"Would it be a blowout?" Reed was again measured, saying he
didn't believe so, while Falwell assured, 'It would be a blowout!"
