one time many years back i was zooming along at night on the freeway doing @ 80 when the hood came unlatched and slammed right up into my face. the windshield shattered but held. listening to Peter Gabriel In Your Eyes at the time, and nearly took it in the eyes myself. yikes.

my car threw a rod a couple weeks ago on the way back from Pismo but all it resulted in was a three-day gawdawfullyboring layover in King City. well, that and a humungous repair bill for a rebuilt engine. thing still doesn't run right, either. shit sandwich.
