Good try - redbacks are actually venomous spiders. They can make you go quite woozy, but I don't think anyone has died from them? They're only a small spider - all over black apart from a prominent red spot on their back. We have more problems with the white-tailed spider - they hide in your washing and it is believed that the bite causes necrosis of your skin...I'm not keen to find out!
As to snakes, we are blessed with an abundance of dugites and tiger snakes (both extremely venomous). Frogs are their favourite food and we have a wetland on our property...
We too have bats - weeny ones - one was curled up in my husband's fire-fighting jacket - maybe 3-4 inches long. Aside from that, we have kangaroos, bandicoots, bush rats (fluffy and cute), honey possums and a huge array of birds and reptiles (lizards, skinks and big goannas).
