Style, smarts, decency, a sense of the world and those who live in it and a concern for those people. The ability to carry oneself in a world gone mad without losing it constantly.

I do not believe that Madame Laura possesses much in the way of any of these things. Maybe the last one, but that I think of as merely being sedated. The class person in my definition would tell the folks she’s with that she declines to be their lapdog for their idiot beliefs. But she maybe believes it all too—and there is where the lack of smarts comes into play, the lack of decency as well.

Teresa is not a perfect person at all and rough around the edges, you bet. Classy? That’s a tough one and not one I’m deeply concerned with when the world is on fire and someone needs to be called up to try to put it out. She’s annoying as hell to me sometimes. Yes, absolutely. But I did not vote for her—I voted for her spouse and am very happy I did.
