self-back-patting alert:

A lady called our office trying to figure out who her elected officials were, cause she was so riled up about same sex marriage. Now my personal view is if two consenting adults want to marry its none of my business. I did feel an obligation to, one, explain to her the difference between state and national elected officials (I work for a state agency and she wanted to express her support for a Con. Amend.) I then gave her the numbers of her congressman and Senators. I have no problem with someone having a different opinion from me, just because they're wrong, doesn't necessarily make'em bad people . . . :))
