After a 5-6 week campaign, the Federal Election takes place tomorrow. I will be so glad to not see any more political ads...
We have a similar choice to you - more of the same (John Howard and the Liberal-National coalition) or go with the unknown (Mark Latham and the Aust. Labor Party).
I'll be 2IC at a polling booth in Albany - leave home at around 6 a.m. and lucky to be back home till 10 p.m. I'm getting a cold, so I'm not overly enthused...
As to new music - has anyone listened to the Keane CD "Hopes and Fears"? They're a trio from Sussex (UK) with no guitars. To me, they sound a bit like Coldplay but they've also been compared to Radiohead - I'd say they're more cheerful and uplifting to listen to than those 2 bands. I love it, and so does my husband - every time I put something else in the player, I find it's been replaced by Keane...
I've also recently bought "Thrills, Kills and Sunday Pills" by Grinspoon (another good Aussie band), the Mark Knopfler CD "Shangri-La" (a bit slow and same-ish for me), and Darren Hayes's latest solo CD "The Tension and the Spark" (a bit boppy and dance orientated for me...).
Conclusion - try Keane!!
